GPACT's Mission:

Thank you for your interest in the Global Professional Association of Colon Therapists or GPACT.

Through history people have used an entire gamete of colon hydro-therapy tools, apparatuses, and now modern equipment approved by governmental agencies to do one thing, hydrate feces and remove it from the body.

An interesting side effect of colon hydro-therapy is that hydration can occur through the mucosa of the large intestine. The believed benefits of colon hydro-therapy (all left unproven by science) must be taken head on, one by one, so that information and access to colon hydro-therapy is available where and when needed.

GPACT's Goal:

It is the intention of GPACT to bring to our profession and our organization, the respect and dignity they deserves. We have worked diligently to become the first and only association to offer the Pillars of Global Standards of Excellence and Safety including:

  • Official client / patient Intake form
  • Comprehensive Standard Operating Protocol for professional colonic practitioner/business thus enabling practitioners to maintain hygiene, safety, and maintenance protocols.
  • And much more!

GPACT honors those that pursue similar goals and have completed training to reflect that the certificate on your wall means you have achieved the highest standards attainable.

If you as a professional Colon Hydro-Therapist have EVIDENCE, this means NO ONE will be able to deny that the work that you do is important to health care. This moves an ancient healing art out of the shadows and into the spotlight providing legitimacy to our industry.

Furthermore, ensuring less of a struggle to gain Doctors referrals, people feeling confidant to come in on their own volition. The goal ultimately is improving the health of our fellow man not to sustainability for your professional career as a Colon Therapist.

Yours in health,

Therapist Focus

In this section of the GPACT web site, we will share details of one of our members. These therapists are members in good standing with GPACT whom are making a notable difference in the colon hydro-therapy industry.

Introducing Annette Barber, Clinical Certified Colon Hydro-Therapist in the ColoLAVAGEsm

Annette is self-employed through her business Gentle Pathways in New York. She is a member of GPACT, Certified Natural Health Professional (CNHP), and holds a Lymphatic Decongestive Therapy Certification. She has been a hydro-therapist for 3-years as of January 2013.

Besides Colon Hydro-Therapy, Annette offers light and sound therapy and lymphatic decongestive therapy using the Photon Sound Beam XII device.

The biggest lesson Annette has learned as a therapist is, "One size does not fit all!  You need to become very adept at asking the right questions and listening to what the client is saying then tailoring the treatment protocols based on the individual." Annette says, "A key lesson for me is that it takes time to build your business.  If you focus on offering the best quality care and continuously “improve” your game by investing in personal and professional growth that “word of mouth” advertising will eventually pay off.   I have found that “word of mouth advertising” is the least expensive, but most effective means of advertising for your business!"

She looks at each of her clients as success stories because she is constantly learning from each and every person that she comes in contact with and with each hydro-therapy session. Annette says, "It is a privilege and a gift to help my clients on their individual journey to better health."

For therapists who may be struggling with client retention, Annette suggests that you "stay positive.  Know exactly what kind of client that you want to attract and retain and keep focused on that goal. What you project is what you will attract."

The most fulfilling training or continuing education Annette has obtained aside from her daily “on the job training” are the following resources, which she has found to be most helpful in her professional life:

Annette likes to educate her clients about food sources for fiber, EFA’s, probiotics, trace minerals, etc.  There are times when I recommend some key supplements:
  • Advanced Naturals Digestive Health products (Probiotics, Fiber, Colon Max, primarily)
  • Beyond Organic – SueroViv cleanse (cultured whey beverage)
  • Physica Energetix – Relax Milieu
  • Marco Pharma – Multi 21 (trace minerals)
  • Nelson Bach – Rescue Remedy
  • Peter Gillans – Natural Calm

If you are looking for sources for you therapy supplies, Annette purchases from:

  • RevivaNew – speculums, tubing, organic lubricant
  • BH Medwear – gowns, disposable sheets, underpads

Annette's favorite books on health are:

  • Road to Perfect Health, Brenda Watson
  • Dr. Jensen's Guide to Better Bowel Care
  • What’s Your Poo Telling You
  • The Maker’s Diet, Jordan Rubin
